Synopsis

Bach's Mass No. 3 in G minor BWV 235 for solo voices, choir and orchestra. The four short Masses, consisting of Kyrie and Gloria only, which Bach wrote around 1737-38 in Leipzig, probably owe their existence to a commission from the Count Franz Anton von Spordk, of Lissa in Bohemia.
