Lighten Our Darkness

Lighten our Darkness by Alec Roth is a contemporary sacred choral work or unaccompanied SATB choir. The words are taken from the Third Collect at Evening Prayer, Book of Common Prayer 1662. Lighten our Darkness was commissioned by Professor Tim Burt to mark his retirement as master of Hatfield College, University of Durham and first performed by the Chapel Choir, directed by Jonathan Allsopp, at Evensong, Hatfield College Chapel, on 22 June 2017.
