Humorously teaching that having a pet is not only a form of entertainment but also a big responsibility, this story shows children how to select the right type of pet. A little girl looks at different animals and analyzes which ones would be good as pets and which ones wouldn't. She sees that rhinos are too big, giraffes are too tall, crocodiles have too many teeth, and penguins are too warm-blooded to live in milder climates.
