Xiaosu and Me: The Struggle of Two Chinese Girls in the Pandemic

Yang Ruoxi is in junior high in Wuhan, China. She clashes with her strong-willed nurse mother, straining their relationship. Yet, the love of her grandma, the understanding of her father, and the companionship of her bestie Xiaosu make her days enjoyable. The girls dream of attending the same high school and pursuing careers in art. But the sudden outbreak of the epidemic changes everything. As death stalks both families, the whole world changes and an early maturity comes to both girls. With the whole country rallying to help Wuhan, they learn the importance of family, community, and society.
