Axolotl, sea pig, mirror spider. These are some crazy looking critters! But no matter how strange or wacky, there's a reason why animals look the way they do. Weird animals, like all living things, have characteristics that help them survive. An animal's colour, teeth and behaviour are all kinds of characteristics. They are adaptations evolved over hundreds of thousands of years to help the animal find food, stay safe and reproduce.
