Wandering in an Ancient Town

This book records the author's life and work in a dozen different places in Nanjing over the past 70 years, such as Hanximen, Xinjiekou, the Confucius Temple, Qingliangshan, Dingjiaqiao, Dudaiying, and Qinhuaihe. They are scattered around literally every corner of Nanjing, each of which is closely tied to the author's particular stages of life. The description of each place is imprinted with personal memory and the surrounding history, leaving traces of a certain time and space in Nanjing. Although this book is a miniature brief history of a personal life, it also reflects the historical changes of Nanjing and the emotional trajectory of the ordinary people living there. There are in this book hand-painted illustrations by prestigious Nanjing painters, which reflect the details of the personal journey and the changes of the times through the juxtaposition of words and pictures.
