Use of Biomaterials in Gene & Drug Delivery

Over the last decade, attention has been increased to develop the systems to deliver gene and drugs for long periods at specific site and controlled rates without any side effects. But up till now current therapy has not such type of property and we required the more sophisticated method to deliver gene/drug. Biocompatible biomaterials such as natural polymer, liposomes, hydrogels, microspheres, dendrimers, chitosan, nanowires, nanotubes etc. or its derivatives are the most promising and act as the carrier for the delivery of DNA and drug molecules. Emphasis of this book is on Biomaterials and its uses which could play a major in treating a lot of biological complications, diseases and other applications.
