In every line and illustration in this story, the characters speak about friendship, one of the most common of the inter-personal relations most human beings have in their life. It is born of admiration and respect that are awakened in us by someone in our surroundings. Alexander teaches us to strengthen this feeling and to recognize the little differences that can establish connections between two people.
