Synopsis

Addressing trade issues in the context of economic development and mitigating the impact of climate change on women, men and children in developing countries is critical to the post-2030 development agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals. However, there is currently no effective institutional framework for overseeing the triple linkage of trade, gender and climate. This book offers new analysis of gender issues in both the trade and climate arenas. It informs the development of gender-responsive, cross-sectoral trade and climate strategies to support national governments in mainstreaming gender issues within trade and climate. It further shows that strategic interventions to integrate gender and women's empowerment issues into trade and climate dialogues can be undertaken by a variety of institutions at different levels.
