Synopsis
Once a fascist symbol, now a collective institution--Rome's FAO building as seen through the curious conceptual eye of Timm Rautert
In Rome, the building that now houses the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) was originally intended as Mussolini's Ministry for Italian Africa. Photographer Timm Rautert (born 1941) juxtaposes the multicultural nature of its interior with portraits of members of the Guardia di Finanza.
