Synopsis
The Way of the Wanderer is a meditative novel about Robert, a man who abandons his successful but hollow life after a public breakdown and embarks on a journey that becomes both physical and spiritual. From the noise of modern London to the silence of monasteries, pilgrim roads, and the windswept fells of northern England, Robert seeks meaning through the ancient rhythm of the Jesus Prayer. Along the way, he meets those who embody grace in unlikely forms - a recovering addict, a hospice nurse, a weary priest - each revealing that holiness hides within ordinary life. Through solitude, failure, and fleeting moments of revelation, Robert discovers that prayer is not escape but attention, and that God was never distant, only unseen. By the novel's end, the seeker disappears into the rhythm of the living prayer itself - not saved from the world, but awakened within it.
