In an unusual year for humanity, fourty-three "extraordinary" children were born. All came from single mothers, with no apparent signs of pregnancy and in the strangest places. Only seven of those children were saved from their fatal destiny and educated by the magnate Sir Reginald Hargreeves to control their peculiar powers. His goal: SAVE THE WORLD.
