Synopsis
The Swordsman of Mars is a quintessential planetary romance in which Harry Thorne, a disgraced Earthman, swaps identities with the mighty Martian warrior Sheb Takkor and is cast into the savage and exotic landscapes of ancient Mars. Amid crimson deserts, towering jungles, and the intricate politics of Martian nobles, Thorne must confront fearsome beasts, rival swordsmen, and the machinations of Sel Han to rescue the enigmatic Princess Thane and restore honour to his borrowed life. The novel blends swordplay with speculative worldbuilding in a narrative that helped define the science-fantasy subgenre in the pulp era.
