The Mountain Men and the Fur Trade of the Far West: Biographical Sketches of the Participants by Scholars on the Subjects and With Introductions by the Editor

The complete set of the Mountain Men series is a well-spring of information on the trappers and traders who entered the West in the first half of the nineteenth century. The original edition, completed in 1972, is long out-of-print. This reprint edition of 500 copies was produced between 2002 and 2004, and several volumes are no longer for sale individually. Only a handful of complete sets are available.
