Synopsis

The wires hum across North Germany. The same message is repeated again and again. 'Tweed is coming... Tweed is coming...'

A key member of Tweed's team found floating in the Binnenalster in Hamburg. A murder disguised as an 'accident' - to lure Tweed into a killing ground on the remote shores of the Baltic Sea.

With Bob Newman, foreign correspondent turned minder, to watch his back, Tweed tracks the assassin working on orders from a hostile power - from Hamburg and Lubeck, from Copenhagen and Oslo, then back to the East Anglian countryside.

Even more deadly, Tweed knows there's a traitor in his own citadel, that one of his four most trusted men is working for the hostile power. Who is it?

Codename Balkan - The Janus Man who faces both East and West.

The body count rises, the order goes out: At All Costs, Kill Tweed...
