When Maya is given a beautiful new pair of shoes there is just one problem - they have laces. Maya cannot tie laces, even though she has tried her very best to do it. When she goes on a woodland holiday with her family, she takes her new shoes with her so that she can keep practicing. Imagine her surprise when she learns how to tie laces easily, with the help of some long-eared friends! The strange thing is this special, natural sort of magic just seems to vanish - poof! - the moment a grown-up lays eyes on it...
