The Eastern Yiddish - Western Yiddish Continuum

The maps and commentary of this third volume portray detailed variation in those features of Yiddish language and culture for which data are available from the entire historical Yiddish language area, in both the eastern and the western dialect regions; 180 maps reflect regional variation in numerous linguistic features, and in ethnographic features pertaining to life cycle, calendric cycle, traditional Jewish cuisine, and other thematic aspects.
