A raw memoir of police brutality, incarceration, loss, and betrayal. As the protagonist serves time, attempting to maintain a lifeline to the outside world through letters, silence slowly takes over. The isolation is compounded by the tragic death of a childhood friend. He must navigate helplessly from behind bars. Upon release, a new harsh reality is revealed: he investigates the death, his partner has traded a heroin addiction for alcoholism and infidelity, forcing him to finally confront the deep toxicity of their relationship and trying to maintain a better life.
