The Countryside Companion

This is a calendar of the British countryside showing what to look for, when and where throughout the year. Month-by-month, the book illustrates seasonal patterns, varying landscapes and the farming cycle. A classic landscape and its wildlife is featured in detail each month with a list of similar places elsewhere in Britain that may be visited. Field guides for each month describe, in all, more than 600 species of Britain's animals, birds, fish, insects, trees, shrubs and flowers.
