The Continuing Adventures of ANGUS BRUIN: The Apennines
Synopsis
"The Apennines" Book 1 of Series 2 follows the adventures of the little brown bear called ANGUS BRUIN, known simply as AB, to his pals. This book defines how Angus and Gran' Pa-Paw Bruin relocated from the Apennine Mountains region of Italy; to the Central Lowlands of Scotland, and why. Under an International drive of recolonising habitat and lands, where the brown bear used to be prevalent prior to historic extinction; Angus and Gran' Pa-Paw Bruin were relocated under an experimental stewardship arrangement, with the Baron Burnside; to thrive within protected lands owned by the baron, in the Scottish Lowlands. The bears were one of two species where recolonisation was being undertaken. The other creature settled on Baron Burnside's land, was a Eurasian Beaver, who has been named "LOGGER". He was there in the Series 1 books, creating mayhem on the Beck; causing many issues for FISHER, the kingfisher; and HERBI, the water vole, whose home was flooded out by the activity of Logger! I am certain we shall see meet them again in books following, in this Series Two. For now, we return to Angus and Gran' Pa-Paw, and follow their stories as to how and why they ended up in Scotland. It is a long way from Italy, for a bear to walk; yet as we listen to Gran' Pa-Paw's recounting of his journey, we must pause a while and ask ourselves; *"Can this be real?"**That is for you, the astute reader to decide! Enjoy the journey.*
