Synopsis

This fourth volume of the collected essays of James A. Ogilvy is divided into three parts: philosophical reflections, values, and business management. The first part contains 10 essays ranging from the need for a revisioning of philosophy, to existentialism and the environment, systems theory, several essays on Plato, one on Hegel scholarship, and one on art and ethics. The second part contains 7 essays on values, from a developmental, empirical, and philosophical approach written as a report to the American Life Insurance Association, to an essay on pluralism, another on polytheism, another on greed, and another on fun. The third and final section contains 4 essays: one on strategy and intentionality, another on what strategists can learn from Sartre.
