The Chronicles of La Belle: The Involution of the Species

At only 15 years old, Emmanuelle La Belle wakes up after 20 years of hibernation in Paris, which she no longer recognizes, in a world divided into two, one hemisphere against the other. After World War III, a virus created to thwart aliens on the planet proves lethal to humanity. Orphaned by her mother and without news of her father from a young age, she finds herself unwillingly enlisted in the U.S. Army of the Northern Hemisphere. A puzzling discovery will turn the intelligence services and the army she belonged to against her. She finds herself alone in an almost entirely uninhabited Paris, fighting against those infected and on the run toward the equator in search of a bitter truth.
