The American Bald Eagle's Close Caw With Extinction's Murderous Claw

Despite being adopted as the national symbol the American Bald Eagle was almost driven to extinction by the citizens of the United States through habitat destruction, pesticide use, and indiscriminate hunting. Luckily, the US congress enacted laws to protect the bald eagle before it was too late. Over the period of 50 years the American Bald Eagle went from being an endangered species to repopulating the continental United States.
