Synopsis

Published to accompany the first major survey of Teresa Margolles's work in the United States

For more than twenty-five years, Teresa Margolles has investigated the social and aesthetic dimensions of conflict and violence, creating sculptural installations, photographs, films, and performances imbued with the material traces of death. Published in conjunction with a major survey of the artist's work at MoMA and MoMA PS1, the publication explores Margolles's unique approach to complex current events, including close studies of her work on the U.S./Mexico border, the narco-economy and global migration, Latin American feminism; and her reinvention of the legacies of minimalism and conceptual art from the South.
