Studi Machiavelliani

These essays, written between 1969 and 2017, are focused on the figure of Niccolò Machiavelli in his different profiles: the theoretician of politics, the reader of classics, the chancellor and the diplomat, the narrator and the playwright. The volume also deals with the late criticism, from the French "antimachiavellism" of the sixteenth century up to the philology the twentieth century.
