Southern Italy as Contact Area and Border Region During the Early Middle Ages: Religious-Cultural Heterogeneity and Competing Powers in Local, Transregional, and Universal Dimensions

The inclusion of experts from the fields of medieval studies, Byzantine studies, Islamic studies and archeology pursues an interdisciplinary and multi-perspective approach, which corresponds to both local and transregional dimensions. On different sources, the contributions offer new interpretations, opening up further research questions and opening up a variety of approaches.
