Synopsis

This interdisciplinary collection draws on the insights of poets, academics, policy makers and practitioners to offer new ways of understanding and responding to the social, psychological and structural challenges facing Caribbean youth today.

Using decolonial and social ecological frameworks, the chapters expose how power, knowledge and practice intersect in the lives of young people and propose transformative pathways for more holistic but contextually specific approaches to safeguarding.

Amplifying young voices - featuring their own words, experiences and scholarly contributions - this volume challenges dominant discourses, reframing global understandings of youth and youth safeguarding from a Caribbean perspective. A vital step toward decolonising knowledge and reimagining social justice for the next generation.
