Synopsis

All ten plays in August Wilson's epic dramatisation of the African American experience in the twentieth century, published in a boxed set of hardbacks, with a series introduction by John Lahr.

In 1982, black American playwright August Wilson set out to write one play for each decade of the twentieth century to capture the real lives of his people. He completed the cycle just before his death in October 2005. Each volume is introduced by an eminent fellow-writer.
