Sarah and her large family (3 brothers and 3 sisters) live with their parents by the sea. Her Dad is a fisherman, and sometimes there isn't much food on their table. They always have enough to eat, even if it is only brown bread and soup. Sarah's best friend is the sea. She tells the sea her most fervent desires and believes the sea listens to her. Christmas is coming soon, and she doesn't dare ask her parents for a new dress, but... she does tell the sea. What a wonderful surprise she receives one morning. 'Whoever is truly good receives goodness in return'. Wonderful lesson in life to learn at an early age. The drawings are well done and accompany the text. Colorful and bright which will hold the attention of the little ones in your life. The author has suggested this book is for ages 2 - 7 and P - 2. Most highly recommended. Serenity... *Reviewed in the United States am a fan of the author's children's books. Kids are entertained by the humorous stories while being exposed to positive behavior reinforcement. In spite of our familiarity with her style, she still surprised us on this one.*We found this story so touching that my four-year-old actually cried. The characters' circumstances and actions prompted an amazing conversation about how she might also help others. I am proud of her and grateful that this story served as the catalyst for an important life lesson.
