Synopsis
San Pedro Haunting
Frank takes a job watching the harbor.
He wears a vest. He carries a radio. He walks the same routes every night and fills out the same logs. The work is simple. The instructions are clear. Nothing unusual is ever officially reported.
San Pedro does not announce itself.
It does not threaten.
It does not explain.
Small things begin to slip. A name appears where it shouldn't. A shift repeats. Equipment works better for Frank than for anyone else. People come and go without comment. The paperwork always balances in the end.
Whatever is happening is never dramatic enough to stop the work.
San Pedro Haunting is a slow, procedural horror novel about routine, compliance, and the quiet way a place can absorb someone without resistance. There are no answers offered and no confrontations staged. The city never reacts. The system never breaks.
The story ends the way it begins - mid-task.
For readers who prefer their horror understated, bureaucratic, and deeply unsettling, in the vein of The Twilight Zone, The Shining's background dread, and modern existential horror where the fear comes not from what attacks you, but from what keeps you.
