Saincte Et Precieuse Deformite: Experimentations Litteraires De La Laideur a La Renaissance

A stigma of vice since Antiquity, ugliness as a literary theme underwent an important revaluation in the Renaissance. Through the works of three key authors -Marguerite de Navarre, Clement Marot, Joachim Du Bellay-, this study aims to analyse the hermeneutic and poetic value ascribed to this antonym of beauty.
