This is based on the true story of a courageous girl from Hiroshima who was two years old when the atomic bomb was dropped. Although she developed leukemia and died ten years later, Sadako never lost her faith and determination as she battled a devastating illness. According to an ancient Japanese tradition, a thousand paper cranes will restore good health. She managed to make 644 cranes before her life came to a peaceful end.
