Robots in Love

While visiting the asteroid L35B05 I saw, in a museum set up for the education of human beings, an artificial crystal of great beauty. It was tetrahedral in shape and each glowing side projected a hologram full of quaint images of those odd beings that had dwelled in this asteroid a very long time ago. After gazing at the output of all four facets with wonder and admiration, I was filled with an urge to write a verbal equivalent to this crystal.

I fetched the curator in order that he might explain the moving pictures to me and thus learned that by viewing the outputs in the correct sequence, a story was presented in its entirety that was actually coherent on its own terms. I now take the opportunity to dedicate my work to Evolution and Mutation. For no one has escaped natural selection altogether, and no one ever can, but as for myself I hope the effort will not impair my genes.
