Rescuing a Supervillain

Sometimes your soulmate is a cat. Sometimes that cat is a supervillain.
Failing to save a bystander during a superhero operation sends strong-man hero Slam, AKA Sam Reese, into a spiral. Unable to continue hero work due to panic attacks, he takes a hiatus to volunteer at a local cat rescue. Maybe some fluffy cuteness and lower pressure good deeds will help him get it together.
Supervillain and cat-shifter thief Bea needs to lie low. With her former gang pursuing her after a heist gone wrong, she reinvents herself. Until the coast is clear, she'll moonlight as a human pet-rescue volunteer-and as a rescue cat.
Slowly healing, Slam finds that he has a magic touch with animals. He devotes himself to taming a particularly frantic, feral cat as well as gaining the trust of his prickly, stand-offish new co-volunteer ... but what will he do when he discovers they are one and the same?
