Receipt of a Name

A true name is supposed to settle in the first week of life-anchoring a soul to its body forever.

But she died before her name could take.

Revived in the chaos, she was given a second name-stitched cleanly into her wrist-and raised believing she was whole. Years later, her stitch begins to loosen. Thread appears under her nails. In her teeth. And with it come memories she never lived: cold, specific visions that feel like someone else's sins trying to fit inside her skin.

With no one left to trust, she turns to a goblin threadkeeper-the only creature whose records cannot be glamoured or erased. What she finds in the ledger is impossible: her original name was reassigned... to a serial killer.
