Director Bekem Rionalt launches waves of political attacks to paralyze Mercator Hall and pressure the president's council into yielding power before the Narvidian fleet arrives to evacuate Belvish citizens. Kessally Swindas realizes what must be done to protect Ladia Purnell from her father's vengeful allies, but fears that it will lead re: Belvun - and herself - down a path from which she can never return.
