Synopsis

Five-year-old Ethan Cole went missing for eighteen agonizing days. When he is suddenly returned to his exhausted single mother, Sandra, the relief should be absolute. But the child who walks back into their Houston apartment isn't the boy who left.

He doesn't cry. He doesn't blink right. When he speaks, his voice is a flat, robotic monotone, uttering unsettling, repetitive phrases.

Sandra knows, with absolute maternal dread, that her son came back wrong.

Enter Officer Ray Kowalski. A weary, coffee-fueled Houston PD beat cop who has spent ten years on the South Side noticing everything Greg Harmon's political department wants ignored. When Ray looks at Ethan's medical scans, he sees a horrifying reality: the boy's brain has been surgically altered, fitted with a micro-telemetry receiver known as Project NIMBUS.

Ethan is no longer just a boy. He is a walking transceiver, emitting a silent signal for a powerful, cartel-backed conspiracy led by the terrifyingly quiet Victor Salazar.

As the relentless Houston summer heat suffocates the city, Sandra and Ray are forced into a desperate run for survival. To protect the child, Ray must venture into the sterile, dark underbelly of the cartel's secret clinical facilities, uncovering a web of political corruption that goes all the way to the top of his own precinct.

In a world ruled by hidden frequencies and lethal secrets, a mother will fight to save her son's humanity-and a weary beat cop will make the ultimate sacrifice to protect them.
