Pool: Werkjournal 1998-2010

The unusual Zurich architectural office pool emerged from a discussion forum on urban-planning among young architects. The pool brought together the eight partners, who have made a name for themselves with their interdisciplinary and undogmatic architectural productions during the last ten years. pool differs from other architectural offices in having a special organizational structure in which solutions are sought on a group basis an idea that draws on historical examples - of design groups. This work report presents the first comprehensive account of the team s development plans, buildings and projects. Arranged under the headings of structures , dwellings , and plans , it discusses their large housing projects in Zurich s Leimbach district and in Affoltern, as well as previously little-known planning projects and structural experiments.
