Synopsis

The polystyrene based CNT-composite membranes prepared by the sol - gel method by applying different pressures. The binding of organic polymer introduces the better mechanical properties in the composite ion exchange membrane. The Synthesized membranes were characterized by physical experiments with water, acids and uncharged solute as well as material were characterized by Particle Size Analysis, Fourier Transform Infrared, X-Ray Diffraction and Scanning electron microscopy techniques and had been investigated for its functional, diffusive, electrochemical properties and measuring the potential of nanocomposite in the photo-catalytical degradation of azo dyes. The effective charge density of these membranes was determined by TMS method and reveal dependence of membrane potential on the physicochemical properties. Other parameters such as transport number, distribution coefficient, charge effectiveness and electrical conductivity, dielectric constant, impedance and capacitance have also been calculated for the CNT- composite material.
