Pollution Control in the South and North: A Comparative Assessment of Environmental Policy Approaches in India and the Netherlands

This study provides a comparative assessment of the strengths and constraints of pollution control instruments in a developed and developing country. After providing an overview of such instruments in India and the Netherlands, the authors present three case studies which provide detailed insights into how these instruments work in actual practice. The book offers a number of suggestions for improvements in policy instruments aimed at preventing and abating pollution in both countries.
