Political Ideologies in Contemporary France

This text analyzes the major political ideologies in contemporary France. The treatment is not approached exclusively from a
party-political point of view; rather, attention is focused on the substance of the ideological currents themselves. Each chapter
considers issues such as: assumptions concerning human nature; the meaning and direction of history; moral and social values; race, ethnicity and national identity; socio-economic organization; and political organization and France's position in the world.
