I've been a pirate fan as long as I can remember, from back in Saturday matinees watching Errol Flynn reruns, and Burt Lancaster swinging in the rigging. Adding the supernatural to it, as in Tim Powers' ON STRANGER SHORES was just the icing on the cake. Then the Depp movies came along and I was like a kid in a toyshop. Here's my take...
