Out of Uni and Stuck?: A Workbook to Help You Find Your Own Options, Make Your Own Choices, and Do It All at Your Own Pace.
Synopsis
This workbook helps students work out what the next step is at this academic stage, and reinforces the underlying belief that it will be ok whatever choices you make. Out of Uni and Stuck? is the third in a series of workbooks at key educational decision points. It is for students who are leaving university (or college). It could be that you are dropping out or graduating. Whichever it is, you're likely to have a choice to make about what to do next. That could be full time work, travel, even more education, setting up your own business or something else altogether. The book starts with a story about Fynn, who is a student really struggling with what to do next. After the introduction pages, you'll see a 4-page comic-style story about the thoughts Fynn is having about what he will be studying and where he will be going next. After that, you'll be able to work through some exercises (and look at examples) to help you think through some of the decisions you need to be making for what you do after your exams. Where to go and what to study can seem daunting. Like Fynn, lots of students and parents are overwhelmed with the choices that need to be made and the pressure that comes with that. Often, even those who seem incredibly confident about what they are doing next have very similar concerns to you. The book focuses on your past, your possible future, and the help and support you can access along the way. All of this, when thought through logically, can help you decide where to go and what to do next. If you know what you want to do next, this workbook will still be helpful for you. By working through the exercises, you will be preparing yourself for interviews with colleges or employers by being more able to articulate answers around your strengths and the experiences you have had, and identify areas you need to develop to secure that next step.
