Hematologic diseases mainly include disorders related to red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets which are the major components of blood.To rule out presence of hematologic diseases in a given patient, history should begin with standard medical questionnaires; Enquiry should be done about any previous prolonged bleeding episode post-surgery or injury, any spontaneous bleeding or frequent bruising. Drug history is very important and should be recorded in detail to know if the patient is on anticoagulants.
