Older Adults in Psychotherapy

Depression, grieving and preparation for death are among the themes covered in this volume of twenty case histories of older people in psychotherapy.

Major themes are introduced and gerontological issues of concern to psychotherapists examined. Each case presentation is followed by an explication of content as well as discussion of rapport-building, treatment techniques, and gerontological and transference issues. The volume concludes with an exploration of lessons learned from the case histories. Knight also introduces a model for approaching therapy with the elderly.
