My Lord and My God

The Gospel is not just the entry point into the Christian life but also the ongoing source of growth and transformation. Many believers may not fully grasp the depth of the Gospel's impact on their daily lives, which is why understanding the new covenant, the grace message, and our new identity in Christ is crucial.

The new covenant, as described in Hebrews 8:6-13, is founded on better promises than the old covenant. It emphasizes that God has written His laws on our hearts and minds, and He remembers our sins no more. This means that our relationship with God is not based on our performance or adherence to the law but on His grace and the finished work of Christ.

Grace is not merely a starting point; it is the empowering force that teaches us to say "no" to ungodliness and live upright lives (Titus 2:11-12). It is through grace that we understand our new identity as new creations in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). We are not merely forgiven sinners; we are righteous and holy, partakers of the divine nature (2 Peter 1:4).

Our union with Christ is a profound mystery revealed in the New Testament. We are spiritually united with Him in His death, burial, and resurrection (Romans 6:3-5). This union means that we are as close to God as we can possibly be, seated with Christ in the heavenly realms (Ephesians 2:6).

The church needs a reformation in understanding and living out these truths. The Gospel is not just about getting to heaven; it's about experiencing the fullness of life in Christ here and now. As we grow in our understanding of grace and our identity in Christ, we will see transformation in our lives, not through our efforts but through His life expressed in us (Galatians 2:20).
