New York City - Late 1950s

Joe Bruckman is a weary private dick who needs to make a few extra bucks. He becomes a go-between for a Time's Square smut ring. In the process, he's seized by Federal Agents and brought before Tennessee Senator Estes Kefauver. Kefauver is conducting hearings on the connection between pornography, comic books, and organized crime. Bruckman is given two choices, be sworn in as a temporary federal agent working for Kefauver or doing jail time as a smut peddler. What's a private eye to do? As it happens, Bruckman, completely unaware of it, shares an apartment building with the delectable fetish model Bettie Page. His assignment: Get to know Miss Page, befriend her, and get the goods on fetish Peddler, Irving Klaw. But things go awry when Bruckman and fellow fetish model and Bettie's best friend, June King, stumble upon a crime scene staged by a mysterious masked killer who is known only as The Ghost!
