Synopsis

Set in the summer of 1942, the dark days of WW2. 13-year-old Jack Adams is living with his grandparents on their farm in Devon while his parents are away in the forces. By accident he finds out that his mother is a Secret Operations Executive, working with the French Resistance, and that she has been captured by the Gestapo. He's told that there is nothing anyone can do, so Jack sets out to rescue her. He stows away on a Lysander leaving from the nearby RAF aerodrome and manages to link up with the Resistance. While helping them, Jack uses the blowing up of a fuel dump to get into the house where his mother is held and get her to safety. All Jack's exploits are based on what real children did to help the Resistance during the war.
