Synopsis

German-Finnish artist Matti Braun creates layered installations that allow objects from one culture to come into contact with those of another, resulting in intentional misunderstandings: a 2003 exhibition includes, among other references, lines by Indian poet Rabindranath Tagore and imagery from Steven Spielberg's 1982 E.T., for instance.
