Mary Jane was premiered at Yale Repertory Theatre, New Haven, Connecticut, in April 2017, and opened Off-Broadway at the New York Theatre Workshop in September 2017. The play won the 2018 New York Drama Critics' Circle Award for Best Play and was a finalist for the 2017 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize.
